Australian Open 09 Showdown: The Wizard vs The Bullfighter
Today's match is not to be missed. The classic showdown revisited: Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal. Both players have displayed exceptional talent is this year's first Grand Slam. Roger has been back into his ever-famous gameplay, with his precision shot-making. His semifinal against Andy Roddick proved that point. Watching his game is like watching a master conductor perfecting his orchestra; it was just magical. And Rafa, have you checked out the semifinal match against his fellow Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco? Man oh man, it was unreal! The match took 5 hours and 14mins to complete! Insane! That was the longest match to date in the Australian Open. Both players have displayed sheer determination, superb shots were made. What can I say, the audience in the Rod Laver arena got what they paid for! Spellbinding tennis action.
Can they repeat the quality of their great Wimbledon 08 showdown? I have a feeling they can. My money today is on Roger. He is back in his A game, and he will emerge victory. Of course, Rafa will not just give it away. Victory is to be respectfully earned, and it may take Roger 5 sets just to get it. Tune in to Star Sports today, or if you can't you can listen to the radio commentary here
Owh before i forget, congrats to Serena on winning her 10th Grand Slam title. To be honest, I don't really follow the women's match after the letdown of Ana Ivanovic..sighh
Update: Unbelievable! The Spaniard wins! I am speechless, he never showed any signs of fatigue playing for 4hrs 23mins. Unbelievable, a truly deserving victory for Rafa. Congrats!
